Korean boy band JYJ and other artists under C-JeS Entertainment have partnered with humanitarian organization World Vision to extend a helping hand to less affluent students of Leyte and Batangas in the Philippines.
They did so by distributing about 20,000 autographed notebooks, which were received wholeheartedly by schoolchildren from the region.
Each notebook contains inspiring handwritten messages, including, “You can and you will,” “Think happy, be happy,” “Believe in yourself” and “Things will get better.”
Apart from JYJ members Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu, other artists who took part in the drive were Song Ji-hyo, Choi Minsik, Seol Gyeong-gu, Lee Jung-jae, Park Sung-woong, Gummy, Kang Hye-jung and Park Yu-wan.
The donation was made in response to the widespread devastation caused by Typhoon “Yolanda” in the Philippines, especially in Leyte, last November.
This is not the first time that C-JeS artists have donated to worthy causes in different countries.

In 2011, JYJ donated 30 million won (P1.26 million) for the construction of restroom and sanitation facilities at elementary schools in Kakanda, Congo.
Song Ji-hyo, Park Yu-wan and JYJ participated in a mango tree planting campaign to help children in Sudan.
JYJ is also involved in Naver’s Happy Bean Campaign for children.
The trio also donated 600 million won (P25 million) to help make shelters for the victims of the Japan earthquake some years ago and gave 200 million won (P8.43 million) to victims of floods in Thailand.
Fans of JYJ in the Philippines and various countries have also donated to different charity projects in time for JYJ’s major concerts, birthdays, drama project presentations and movie previews.
